Innovative Materials for Energy and Information

One of the major research directions in TBSI center 1 is to develop innovative materials and devices with essential industrial applications. In this proposed workshop, we will specifically focus on materials related to energy and information technologies, which are the two of the most active research fronts in modern science. Through discussions with the leading experts in the field, we will demonstrate how we study and discover new materials with exceptional electrical, optical, thermal, and mechanical properties. We will show how these materials are implemented in technologies such as energy conversion (e.g., photovoltaics, thermoelectric), energy storage (e.g., batteries, supercapacitor), transistor, photodetector, and light modulation etc. The significant advances in these fields will provide viable solutions to the energy problem in the modern society and boost the information exchange, thus eventually shape the future of our world.
