Engineering Biology for Precision Medicine

Precision medicine is embracing personalized treatment for diseases at lower cost and side-effects but with the higher expectation for therapeutic efficacy. Engineering developments that aim at real impact in disease treatment need to draw on adequate understanding of the biological mechanisms that lead to disease and that determine the action and performance of medicines and therapies. This workshop will cover a broad range of the cutting edge developments in molecular engineering, cellular engineering, tissue engineering and materials engineering for the precision understanding and manipulation of human disease-related fundamental biology, disease diagnosis, modelling, personalized therapy and new drug discovery, etc.
